Bringing Albertans together in support of
Food Banks Alberta

From February 16-23, join hundreds of Albertans across the province as we cook a heartwarming, versatile winter staple – chili – and share a meal in support of Food Banks across Alberta. Albertans are encouraged to create and share their own chili recipes with friends, families, and food banks.

This year’s event encourages families to purchase a “chili pack” to donate to food bank clients across Alberta, with a goal of 50,000 chili packs provided to Alberta food banks in communities across the province.

Food banks across Alberta are partnering with community organizations, champions, and events to host chili pop ups over a one-week period, to share a meal and raise awareness that food banks in your community are here to help. It is our hope that wherever you may live, you’ll join us Together At The Table on National Chili Day, February 23.

The Need

Alberta has the highest rate of food bank use, and the highest food insecurity in the country. Over 155,000 Albertans access the food bank each month. 58,750 of these users are children.

We know that between the current affordability crisis, the rising costs of living, and inflation, that tens of thousands of Albertans are struggling to make ends meet.
